Please see Technical Information and Downloads for all suggested detailing and specifications for fibre cement board application. We have presented details that deal with B2 and E2 criteria and have a complete system we use in application to fully waterproof the fibre cement board as well as dealing with bonding and structural considerations.
In simple terms, the fibre cement board is applied over a cavity system as if the wall was going to be plastered. Flashings and acceptable jointing methods that meet E2 requirements are installed by the builder. A licensed Hard as Rocks applicator will then waterproof the fibre cement board with our special Stone-Tite slurry, and then use a specially formulated Stone-Tite mortar mix to apply the stone that not only has waterproofing and bonding capabilities, but also leaves the stone with a pointed 'laid-in-mortar' look - just like the real thing.
An approved and fully warranted fibre cement board must be used in compliance with all manufacturers design and installation specifications. Care should be taken with details and flashing to ensure a fully waterproofed substrate prior to stone application. All detailing and workmanship is the responsibility of the designer and builder and should meet all E2 requirements and local authority regulations.
Please contact the following manufacturers for full details, local distributors and specifications applying to their own proven and warranted systems.
